Baltasar Ebang Engonga, the Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF) in Equatorial Guinea, has become embroiled in a major scandal following the discovery of explicit videos allegedly featuring him with the wives of several prominent government officials. The footage, which surfaced during a fraud investigation, includes encounters with key figures’ spouses, including the president’s sister, the wife of the police director general, and the wives of at least 20 ministers.
The videos, reportedly recorded with the participants’ consent, were found during a search of Engonga’s office and home. Authorities discovered over Baltasar Engonga viral videos 400 leaked sex tapes in total, which were filmed across various locations, such as Engonga’s office, hotels, and even bathrooms.
The scandal has ignited public outrage and drawn sharp criticism from the country’s leadership, who have condemned the incidents. The discovery has prompted disciplinary warnings and significant media attention in Equatorial Guinea, especially given the involvement of high-ranking officials’ family members.
In response, Vice President Teodoro Nguema issued a public statement on X (formerly Twitter) condemning the behavior. He emphasized that sexual activities are strictly prohibited in government offices, which are designated solely for administrative work. Nguema stressed that any future violations would lead to serious consequences, including dismissal from government service.
“Recent abuses shared on social media have been a cause for concern,” Nguema wrote. “Ministries are meant to focus on administrative work that supports the country’s development, and sexual activities in offices will not be tolerated. We have put control mechanisms in place, and anyone found in violation of this rule will face disciplinary proceedings for indecent conduct.”
